This is a document issued by a FERC office notifying the filing party that an application or request is deficient by virtue of being incomplete or failing to provide information adequate to FERC filing requirements. The filing party is notified that an official filing date is withheld, pending receipt of the requested information.
The deficiency or request for additional information may include a Schedule A or Schedule B specifying the categories or types of information to be submitted with due dates for scheduled compliance.
This document issued by a FERC office notifying the filing party that a FERC office has determined that additional information beyond the content of the original application is necessary or desirable to complete FERC review, analyses and action on the application. The request for additional information may include a Schedule A or Schedule B specifying the types of information to be submitted, with due dates for scheduled compliance.
This represents a letter or document addressed to a utility or other submitting party that is informational correspondence and does not require compliance or specify a requirement that the submitting party correct deficiencies or submit additional information.
These are letters authored by a FERC office and addressed to a utility or other party on a matter subject to FERC jurisdiction, directing the recipient to submit a report or other response constituting compliance with the directive by a specified date. A compliance directive is a document requiring action other than the specific class of documents constituted by deficiency letters and requests for additional information.
Compliance directives are letters or notifications addressed to a hydropower project applicant or holder of a license, exemption from licensing, or preliminary permit holder, usually prepared by the Office of Hydropower Licensing or one of the five regional offices under its direction, directing the recipient to submit a report or other response constituting compliance with the directive by a specified date. A compliance directive is a document requiring action other than the specific class of documents constituted by deficiency letters and requests for additional information.
Frequent examples of the compliance directive class of documents are letter or notices scheduling inspections, notifying the recipient that FERC has initiated an investigation or is auditing compliance with the terms of the license or exemption, requiring EAP testing, advising of a complaint concerning the operation of a project, or notifying the recipient of required procedures, in addition to those specified in the license or exemption from licensing.
